Why Does Dr. Herron Use Dioxyfin Therapy?
In 2018, Dr. Herron was introduced to Serendi Medical and the use of their DXN transdermal CO2 therapy. She was intrigued by this device that uses CO2 and its Bohr affect to heal tissue. The Bohr effect explains how CO2 when introduced into tissue causes a reduction in pH and a decrease in the affinity of hemoglobin for oxygen. This, in turn enhances the release of oxygen into the tissue for healing. It is simply brilliant and I have never seen anything that can heal tissue faster than this device. Dr. Herron uses DXN on a regular basis in her practice and has shared her experiences with significant reduction of pain and inflammation, resolution of infections and non-healing wounds, increased hoof growth and so much more. My hope is that this device will be used in all hospitals, ambulatory practices and zoos. Our job as veterinarians is to improve the health of animals and this device does exactly that.
